Download Predict Games

Note: You are downloading my first program, Predict_Games. This is entirely different from my second program Predict, which runs on the site and is available for download below, and my third program Jacqueline, which has not yet been released.

Predict_Games_1_7.tgz The Predict Games program and associated files all neatly zipped up for you. Unzip into any directory you like and then follow the instructions in README.txt. This version has minor bug fixes, a better control variable set, and data files for both NFL and NCAAFB - NFL is new in this download.

www.perl.com Users with a PC or an older Mac must download and install the Perl programming language. Users with a Unix / Linux / Solaris box or a newer Mac should have it installed already.

www.povray.com Required for viewing optional graphical output.

Download Data Files

These are the most up to date data files that I have for the various sports, my apologies if they are incomplete. I am just one person and it is difficult to keep up with it all, but I do try. If you have a more complete data file that you would like to contribute, please send email to the link at the lower right corner of this page, thanks. The datafiles are here: MLB_Scores.txt, NBA_Scores.txt, NCAABK_Scores.txt, NCAAFB_Scores.txt, NFL_Scores.txt, and WNBA_Scores.txt.

Documentation

Wondering what to do next? Be sure to read the README.txt file and check out the documentation page.

Consensus Test

This program is not necessary to run Predict Games, it is something completely different. If you are interested in the consensus system and you would like to verify or challenge my conclusions about it, then download this program. It is a Perl program, so you need to have the Perl programming language installed. Just run it and you will see the output agrees with my conclusions, then examine the code and see if you can find any flaws in my implementation (or improvements). The program is here.

Download Predict

Note: You are downloading my second program, Predict. This is entirely different from my first program Predict_Games, which is available for download above, and my third program Jacqueline, which has not yet been released.

Warning: This is a very difficult software installation. You have to either have Apache (Mac and Linux should have Apache) or download it and set it up on your system. Then you need to have Perl or get it (Mac and Linux should have Perl) and install it. Then you either install the ScatterPlot module into Perl or place its files with your other files in the CGI-bin directory. And you have to know what a CGI-bin directory is and how it works, plus how to open up CGI files from that directory in your web browser. On top of all that, the program is complicated to use and requires some reading on this site to understand it. Whew, that's some warning! So if you're a software guru you won't have any problems, but anyone else please be sure you know what you are doing before attempting this installation. I can be reached on the forum or via email if you want help. Good luck!

Predict_1_1.tgz The zip file that has another zip file in side of it, haha. Be sure to also download the data files, above. You need Perl and Apache to run this program. Warning: it is a very difficult installation, not for beginners!
